My February's WIP Artworks and Insights Part A / by Pabgha Vaaj

Hello Awesome Individuals,

In any artworks that I made before 2016, I had this habit of cutting out the desired image. I did that to decrease clutter in my art bin, and the images were only for my eyes. I realized that this method looked unprofessional and messy especially when I post them online in my website.  None of my recent completed artworks have been uploaded because I haven't scanned them in yet. However, there will be a spam of them very soon.

For now, for this post, I'll be sharing some of my insights of a couple of my work-in-progress artworks (old to recent).

I was inspired to do this from PearFluer, one of my favorite Youtuber- Artists, and one of her videos talked about painting an artwork by using one pigment. In this artwork, I chose blue. Her eyes are slightly off; however, it doesn't concern me. Another thing that I'm challenging myself is using more than half of the paper size. I have this tendency of being frugal and only using not even half of the paper. I'm starting to like drawing big because I could add more details to make the overall finer.

This is a similar from the previous one above except I used a marker instead. I drew various shapes, switched over to a ink pen, and doodled bunch of faces. The ones without initials except that orange box are drawn by me. I had no idea that I could draw these kind of face. To me, I find this is a good method to break out of the same-face syndrome.

I bought this watercolor papers that are postcard size (Strathamore). These are my most recent artworks. When I worked on the girl singing proudly that magically brought stars out, it was the time when I finished all my college applications. I was tremendously happy. After I finished that one, I flipped to the next one and drew that boy. When one unleash his/her/their passion, it could pass on and inspire the other. Both of those images are related to one another. As for the third one, she's one of my original character - Lovisa.

I keep the finished artwork in the book. Until all of them are finished, I'll considered it as "complete".

These are the recent artworks that I'm working on. I spent my Valentine hanging out with elders, listening to their adventures, and with myself painting on my postcards. I tend to hang out solo on this particular day anyway. However, next post will be about these completed gorgeous and other future works. Thanks for your time reading this and stay awesome. - Pabgha
